Vivian stepped out of the shower getting ready for her date. It had only been a few days since she had been at the club dancing with a mysterious and handsome young man. His name was Varus, an interesting name. Before the night had come to an end Vivian had convinced him to go out on a date with her. She entered her room to check the time, but seeing the time didn't help her because she was nervous to begin with! At this rate she would be late! Vivian quickly dried off with the towel and used the hair dryer to dry her hair. After Vivian fixed her hair she put on some make up, it wasn't anything to flashy she didn't want to look like a whore. After that she dressed herself and grabbed her car keys and went out the door. Varus' apartment was a short drive from her apartment. Vivian enjoyed the sound of her heels hitting the pavement. It had been awhile since she went on a date. Heck, she didn't care if they didn't even leave his apartment! It was a date and she hadn't been on a date in FOREVER. She tapped on the apartment door. "Varus, it's Vivian." She said just in case he might ask who was at the door. OUTFIT

"I can see that.", Varus told her as a plume of white smoke rose up from a darkened corner of the porch in front of the apartment. There, from where the white smoke had originated, was the muscled silhouette of a large young man who was rolling a lit cigarette between his index finger and thumb, blue eyes watching the moon carefully as if it was plotting against him. It was a half moon that night, but it's pale gaze was still ominous and all too unnerving to the man, although he didn't show it. As he glanced over at the pretty young thing that had found her way to his door, Varus narrowed his eyes on her. He sat there, wearing average clothes that might have even been mistaken for attire one would wear around the house, obviously ill prepared for the night that he believed Vivian had gone through trouble for. He looked her up and down and realized that she was ready to go out on a date, something that had presently slipped his mind. ---

Vivian turned to look at the handsome man whose stunning voice gave her chills. She stepped over towards him and took his cigarette from him with a smirk, she inhaled. It had been awhile since she'd smoked a cigarette. As she exhaled she remembered the times when she did. She was definitely a rebel in high school. Vivian handed Varus back his cigarette, "Well, don't you look handsome." she smiled. It was a joke since he was under dressed, but it was also the truth. Vivian's imagination was going crazy. She turned to look at the moon, "Beautiful, isn't it?" she asked him.
She had always loved the moon. Vivian grew up in La Push with her grandparents. She would stare at the stars for hours. Sometimes she even slept outside. They gave her a sense of peace... night time always did that for her.

Varus glanced up at the woman who'd slipped his cigarette out of his hand and took it for a moment. She breathed in, and as she returned it he wasted no time in raising it to his mouth to take a deep drag of it as well, letting his hand fall to his side as he continued to breathe in afterward. Smoke trailed the creases and crevices that made up his muscular arm as he looked from Vivian and back up at the moon, finally breathing out again and letting a pillar of smoke rise up from his slightly agape mouth. He then finally responded, blue eyes locked on that same, ominous moon he was slowly beginning to hate. "Actually, it feels like it's glaring at me. Waiting...", Varus said as he raised his hand again to slip the cigarette between his lips and breathe in the toxic smoke once more. As he did, he pushed himself upright and turned, stepping past Vivian as he dug into his pockets for his keys. When he found them he pulled them out, stopping next to his front door so that he could slip the key in, flicking it to the left to lock it. He then pulled the key out and glanced over his shoulder as he slipped them back into his pocket. When he connected eyes with his young date again he said, "Well, I admit that our little date slipped my mind, but if you're ready to go then I suppose I'm as ready as I'm gonna get."Turning away from his apartment, Varus took a couple of steps out onto the stone path to his door as he plucked the cigarette from his mouth with his right hand. He then raised his left arm, clutched his hand into a tight fist so that his forearm would bulge and tighten up, and then he reached down with his right hand and smothered the cigarette against the underside of his left forearm. "Let's go."

The moon was waiting? Waiting for what? Vivian was confused by his statement, but she brushed it aside. "Well, I admit that our little date slipped my mind, but if you're ready to go then I suppose I'm as ready as I'm gonna get." Varus stated, but it was obvious from the way he was dressed. Of course that didn't bother Vivian at all. She watched as Varus locked his apartment door and then followed him, but where were they going? She hadn't picked any place to go, that was supposed to be his job!
As Vivian watched Varus extinguish his cigarette she was slightly shocked, but at the same time she kind of expected it from Varus. She quickly grabbed his arm to look at the mark it had left behind, "You know normal people throw down their cigarettes and then step on them to kill the fire." Vivian stated. That was true, right? At least it was for her.
"Also, where are we going?" she questioned Varus. "If you don't want to go out... we can just chill at your apartment. I'm okay with that... as long as..." Vivian stopped midsentence, "I get to spend time with you." she mumbled the rest of her sentence kind of hoping he would and wouldn't hear her.

Varus smirked as he noted the woman's concern for someone she didn't even know. To him, that meant that she already cared about him far too much for her own good, which was cute, but it also came of a bit desperate. Either way, he took it as a compliment that she, a young woman so very clearly the envy of many a man, was doing the chasing. Then again, she had to. It wasn't going to work any other way, and that wasn't even something that Varus had decided. In fact, it was completely and totally out of his control. It had been decided since the day of his accident when he'd first made it to town, those bit marks on his side still burning just enough to constantly remind him of it even now.
"What are you talking about?", Varus asked, stopping and shifting so that he was facing back towards Vivian, either of his forearms turning up so that she could see them both, not a mark on either of them except for the faint, dark traces of ash on the left where he'd smothered out the cigarette.
He only let the silence after his question linger for a moment, intent on diverting the young woman's attention to keep her from suspecting more than she should. "I'm walking this way because... well... I don't really do this, so I don't actually have a plan.", he told her, reach up up with his left hand and extending his thumb to point back over his shoulder. "There's a trail down into the treeline next to the apartment complex that I haven't walked yet, so, I'm gonna take a long one.", he told her as he turned and slipped his hands into either of his pockets.
"Move your feet if you intend to join me.", he told her, glancing over his shoulder at her with those blue eyes as he walked towards the fence at the back of the complex.

Walking? Vivian definitely hadn't planned for that. It was still a nice idea. Thankfully there wasn't much of heel on her boots. She could handle it. She followed Varus keeping up, but also leaving some space between them. She really wanted to lock arms or something, but she didn't want to ask too much from this date. Varus was definitely a mystery, but it was one she wanted to solve. Ever since she'd lived in Washinton weird things had happened sooner or later she would figure it all out.
Carpe Diem, those words rung clearly in her mind. It was something her grandmother had told her while she was in high school. Seize the moment, Vivian thought. She knew what she wanted and for a moment she didn't care how the night ended... Vivian reached out and grabbed Varus so the he would stop walking, "I'm sorry," she said before she did anything.
She stepped in front of Varus, her body was super close to his. She could feel the heat radiating from him. Vivian kissed Varus, then she stood there awkwardly to see if and how Varus would respond and wondering if she should pretend nothing happened...
NOTE --- That shit just happened.

Varus was surprised when the woman took his arm, as quick as a cat she seemed to be, but that paled in comparison to the moment she rushed in front of him and planted a kiss on his lips. That moment was a short one, as she pulled away before he could really react then proceeding to look at him as awkwardly as any woman ever had after trying to make a move on him. The only difference was that he'd had the opportunity to avoid such moments when he wasn't particularly attracted to the other party in question. This time, however, he hadn't gotten that change. She was quick, and she appeared to be very determined to try and make whatever it was between them work. Something that Varus had to commend her for. That's why he didn't punish her with silence or a displeased reaction after she'd kissed him.
Instead, Varus smirked and reached for her arm, looping his around hers before sliding either of his hands back into his pocket as he said, "That was bold." After he did he pulled her along with him as he started walking towards the back of the apartment complex again. As they reached the gate to the wooden fence, Varus slid his free hand out of his pocket, reached out and opened the latch, pushing it open before leading her through it and out onto a dirt road that weaved down into the woods that neighbored the back of the apartments.
"Let's get to our little hike before you steal another kiss.", he told her, shaking his head with a smirk in the corner of his mouth.
"I don't think I'm fast enough to keep you from taking them, but perhaps if you're distracted by the dark and frightening wilderness you won't be so tempted."

Bold. That was an understatement. But for the most part Vivian received what she had been wanting. Varus linked arms with her. She couldn't help but smile when he did. He talked about her stealing another kiss... She hadn't thought about it until he mentioned it. Did that mean he wanted her to kiss him again? "Dark and frightening?" She questioned with a fake laugh and moved closer to Varus. It was more likely that Vivian would jump in his arms now from being scared to death.
The only thing I find truly distracting is you, Vivian thought. She couldn't stop thinking about how mesmerizing he was. Being with Varus in the woods, he was the perfect distraction from the darkness surrounding them.
NOTE: Sorry, it's kind of crappy. I'm replying from my phone.

This young woman was still surprising him at every turn, not expecting her to be as content as she was with someone as boring as he was. He preferred a walk in the woods rather than going to the movies or to dance the night away at the club while getting drunk out of his mind. He was about as old a man as his 21 year old body would allow, and he was slowly getting more and more complacent just being alone when before he'd been angry and searching for his brother. He had dropped off the face of the earth since he'd skipped out of the hospital without paying or revealing his name, knowing that he couldn't afford it and he certainly didn't want anyone keeping tabs on him. Now he was escorting a young woman, who was practically purring against his arm, through the woods as the moon continued to glare at him from afar, waiting patiently for his demise. It would get full again one night soon, and when it was he would lose his mind again and wake up to recall nothing but fractured images of his madness.

As they walked in complete silence Vivian enjoyed the scenery. Her eyes caught something in the distance and for the first time she wished that she didn't have 20/20 vision. Vivian removed her arm from being linked with Varus, even though she truly wanted to curl up in his arms at that moment. She staggered slightly off of the path, "Elayne!" she shouted praying with all her might that she was mistaken.
The person she'd seen dropped the other person to the ground. They wiped their mouth clean of the blood staining their lips and turned to look at Vivian with a cold expression. The girl smirked at Vivian and then disappeared into the darkness.
Vivian ran towards the body that was lying lifeless on the ground. She knew this person! She worked with him on a daily basis, "I'm sorry!" she cried to her lifeless friend. Elayne was Vivian's twin... it must have been easy for him to think it was her.

Varus stopped, as Vivian released his arm, silver blue eyes connecting with the figure that dropped the near lifeless body to the forest floor. When he saw the blood dripping from the young, pale faced person's chin his body caught fire and sheer hatred rushed through his entire body, blood became flame as his muscled swelled.
Every inch of him tensed up, clinched fists cracking as he could actually feel bones popping while his muscles swelled and thickened with hot blood. It was like he could smell a filthy, rotting corpse and it was coming from the form that stared at them with almost playfully evil eyes. Without another moment's hesitation, Varus lost control and bolted from the spot, rushing past Vivan so quickly that he might have spun her in place from the draft.
He bounded towards the scene, one leg at a time, almost dropping to all fours like some kind of deranged animal, but he restrained himself. When he noticed that he was beginning to lean forwards he caught himself and lost concentration for a moment. Glancing down at his hands, but there was nothing out of place.
The second he looked up he saw that the figure was gone, sliding to a halt next to the body before he glanced back and fourth into the tree lines on either side of the path. He sniffed the air subtly and turned to one side, picking up the scent of something foul with increasing ease, and there he stood, chest heaving as he watched with those icy blue eyes to see if whatever it was might return to them and pick a fight it would lose.

As Vivian leaned over her friends dead body, she wanted to shed tears but it was impossible. "Vampires, werewolves, Vivs you are insane for believing our grandparents." Elayne's voice echoed inside of her head. She was the one insane for wanting to believe and yet Elayne had gone and turned into a monster! Vivian ran her fingers across the bite mark left behind on her friends neck.
Vivian got off the ground which she'd been kneeling on and clenched her first. "I will kill her..." she growled finally shedding tears. Elayne and Vivian had never been on the best terms, but this was crossing a line. Vivian glanced over at Varus, "I'm staying with you tonight." she stated, she wasn't asking. There was every chance in the world that her sister would come back and try to hurt him just because she saw Vivian with him.

After a long time glaring into the swaying trees, Varus realized their little guest wasn't coming back. He could practically feel the eyes of the demon upon them even now, knowing that they were very possibly still being watched. Even then he had to think they weren't about to come back right now, though. They didn't want to tangle with another monster, even if that monster didn't even know exactly what he was.
Kneeling down, Varus slid either of his arms beneath the body and swept it up against his broad chest with ease. He then turned and started back down the path from the direction they'd come, the limbs of the body swaying with his steps. As he started back towards his apartment, Varus glanced over his shoulder to make sure that Vivian was following him, his awareness broadening as his senses sharpened. Specifically his sense of smell became extremely heightened, and he could practically taste the blood sucker, though the scent was fading more and more as he got further away

Vivian was shocked as Varus lifted the body off the ground. He was moving evidence that the cops would most likely cover up anyway, but still. Vivian followed behind Varus, still unsure of how to react to everything that was happening. Her sister had become a vampire! How are you supposed to handle that? Vivian pulled out her phone and quickly texted her grandparents to warn them of the threat Elayne now posed.
Vivian heard the howling of wolves after she sent the text message. She quickly caught up to Varus' side and stayed close, Creepy, she thought.
